I will give my people Israel a home of their own. I will give them rest from all their enemies. In addition, I will make your kingdom last forever, and a son from your descendants to be King forever. Covenant with a family (Abraham) 2000 BC Covenant with a tribe through a prophet (Jews from Egypt, Moses) 1500BC Covenant with a nation & their King (Kingdom of Israel, King David) 1000 BC 1.Draw the flow diagram. 2.How are the promises changing? 3.How are the Covenants getting bigger each time? 4.The Covenant through Jesus is the last Covenant. How do you think that one will be different? 1.What will it promise? 2.Who will it be with? (Lots of other kings, some good, some bad. The Prophets).

Jesus’ is a descendant of King David through Joseph, his adopted father, and possibly also through Mary. He is in line for the throne.. When the angel visits Mary, to tell her she will have a son, the angel tells her: “.. you shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there will be no end." God promised David that one of his sons would be a King forever. 1.How is Jesus of royal birth? 2.Copy out what God promised Mary through the angel. 3.How does that fulfil the promise made to David, that a son of his would be King forever? Joseph and Mary had to travel to Bethlehem, the City of David, for the Census, because they were both from the “House of David”.

David wrote half of the Psalms we hear in Church. Draw King David, with a harp, and in his mouth, what he could be singing to God. Look up a Psalm from the Bible. Rewrite it in 3 verses in your own words. DO NOT COPY IT OUT!! Psalm 101 Written by David I will sing of your love and justice; to you, L ORD, I will sing praise. I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me? Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the L ORD.
