11 God Israel Nations King 2 Samuel 7:12-16: “When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me…

12 God Israel Nations King 2 Samuel 7:12-16: “…when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men, but My loving-kindness shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”

13 God Israel Nations King God’s Covenant with David “He shall build a house for my name”: this refers to Solomon, David’s son. “I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me”: Solomon would be God’s anointed king who would represent God. “Your house and your kingdom shall endure before me forever; your throne shall be established forever”: there will always be a descendent of David & Solomon who is the rightful king and thus God’s representative to the world.

14 Anointed: 7 “I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, God:‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. God Israel Nations King Hebrews 5:5 ESV: “So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’” Psalm 2 is about Jesus!

22 Learn what the Bible story is about and then live out your part in it. Be encouraged by God’s plan to bring justice and deliver the world from the effects of sin. Put your hope in deliverance to salvation and resurrection to eternal life, not in deliverance from worldly problems. Be passionately devoted to God through Christ.
