Lee Harvey Oswald was the accused assassin on JFK. He was born on October 18, 1939 and died on November 24, Oswald was a former marine who had briefly defected to the Soviet Union. Oswald was initially arrested for the murder of a police officer, J.D. Tippit, 40 minutes after JFK’s shooting so he was also believed to be involved in JFK’s shooting as well. Oswald denied any relation to either of the murders. Oswald was arrested and brought to police head quarters. When he was being transferred from the police head quarters to jail, he was shot by Jack Ruby, a nightclub owner, on live television. In 1964 it was concluded that Oswald was the one who killed Kennedy by firing 3 shots at the president. However, in 1979, the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that Oswald had shot the bullets that killed Kennedy but they also changed the results from 1969 by saying that he probably did not work alone. In conclusion, JFK was the youngest president elected and had changed the world in many positive ways but was sadly assassinated on November 22 nd 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. He died from a shot to the head and a shot to the back. Oswald was the supposed killer but he was killed before he could be brought into trial. Many people believe that Oswald was not the killer or had people helping him which created JFK’s conspiracy.
