ASTHO Have You Shared Stories ASTHO’s “Have You Shared” initiative systematically collects and disseminates stories that highlight promising and useful practices and implementation strategies developed by state and territory health agencies The initiative captures stories from all ASTHO content areas

ASTHO Have You Shared Stories Story examples:  Guam Addresses Rising E-Cigarette Use with Leadership from Health Director ̶Facing high levels of e-cigarette use among middle and high school students, the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services is working with partners to address the issue on the island  Quality Improvement in Kentucky: Streamlining the Grant Process ̶By using quality improvement tools to focus on the challenges agency staff faced when applying for grant funding, the Kentucky Department for Public Health was able to standardize and improve the process

ASTHO Peer Networks Accreditation Coordinators  Open to state and territorial Accreditation Coordinators  Enhance knowledge of the PHAB Accreditation process  Exchange accreditation related resources and engage with colleagues for the purposes of successfully serving as an accreditation coordinator and leading an accreditation process ASTHO maintains an online community for this group, featuring:  Topic related conversations  Resource and document upload/download  Links to online tools  Calendar of national level accreditation and QI related events

ASTHO Peer Networks Informatics Directors  The Informatics Directors serves as a conduit for collaboration on key technical public health informatics challenges to identify and create solutions that can be utilized and replicated in health agencies Priorities  Technical and strategic aspects of informatics in health agencies, such as creating an informatics office and assessing the agency informatics capacity  Feedback from the network has been utilized to inform policy briefs, workforce initiatives, and to gather feedback on state success stories and needs

ASTHO Peer Networks Legislative Liaisons  Responsible for public health policy development, including advocacy in their respective legislatures and often responsibility related to health agency regulatory functions Activities  Standing conference calls every six weeks  Legislative Liaison Annual Meeting  Listserv for rapid peer-to-peer technical assistance  End-of-session legislative summary  Legislative and regulatory prospectus

ASTHO Peer Networks Senior Deputies  Provides support and counsel to ASTHO’s members and assists the ASTHO Executive Committee by addressing key operational and cross- cutting programmatic issues of national significance affecting state and territorial health agencies Priorities  Actively support the ASTHO Board of Directors, standing committees, and the Presidential Challenge  Promote strategies and tools that improve the performance of state health agencies  Serve as the “operational agent” for ASTHO and provide feedback to OSTLTS on operational issues with guidance from the ASTHO Board of Directors and to provide feedback to the Board on specific issues  Serve as a resource and sounding board to ASTHO in the development of extramural funding opportunities, such as grants and cooperative agreements, and other initiatives
