Planning and preparation Initial phase is same for any medium Know your audience – Use the worksheet as aide memoire Brief that makes sure you are planning the content – Questions organised? – Consent given? – Where will it be shown?

Writing your first news story 1.Find something to write about 2.Do your interviews 3.Choose the best quotes 4.Report, report, report 5.Be objective and fair 6.Write a great headline 7.Structure the rest of the story 8.Say where you got the information from 9.Find a picture for your story 10.Get started on the follow up

Tip 1 Conducting and interview – Things you will need – Preparing: R&D – Establish rapport – Keep it natural – Be open – Maintain control – Wrapping up – A note about note-taking – Recording
