Monday, March 9 Pick up a Periodic Table Packet and put your name on it. DO NOT LOSE THIS – IT IS A PROJECT GRADE!!! Read on pages 3-4 in the packet, the readings called “ A Brief History of the Periodic Table ” and “ The Modern Periodic Table”. Think about how the Periodic Table was discovered and developed based on the properties of elements and atoms. Copy the atom notes on the board onto the back of your packet. Leave space for additional video notes.

LEFT SIDE : shiny, good conductors, bendable RIGHT SIDE : dull, poor conductors, brittle ZIG ZAG LINE : have some properties of metals and some of nonmetals
Arrangement of Elements 7 PERIODS horizontal rows Element properties in each period change in a pattern (metals, metalloids, nonmetals) 18 GROUPS vertical columns Elements in each group have similar characteristics/properties.
