Presentation transcript:

Warm-Up… 5 mins quiet writing LT 1.1: “I can use safe procedures in the science classroom and lab.” Agree or disagree? (write the statement and answer in your notebook pg __.) Lab accidents happen 50 times more often than chemical factory accidents. Lab accidents may result in permanent injury. Following lab rules decreases chances of accidents by 90%. Labs are a dangerous place for students.

Learning Target 1.1 I can determine and use appropriate safety procedures. I know the names and location of safety and lab equipment in my classroom.

Activity One: 20 mins View and take notes on the lab safety power-point. Set up your notebook pgs __: Title: Lab safety Notes Number your paper from #1 to #20, leaving 2 lines between each number.
