New framework and regulations from Sept 2007 All new teachers Threshold licence to teach e.g. Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector PTLLS Roles – Full or Associate teaching role and qualifications – Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector DTLLS or Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector CTLLS QTLS and ATLS

Literacy Numeracy or ESOL specialist teachers Two requirements – generic and subject specialist Full teaching role Entry requirements L3 personal skills in English or Maths Requirement for teaching practice at two levels Various routes to qualification
