Who is the Audience? The intended audience of the tutorial is the educational community--specifically teachers. The tutorials are targeted towards those with no knowledge of how computers work.

What is the tutorial's format? The tutorial is arranged in separate sections with distinct headings describing the steps of a desired process. There are screen captures that go along with the bulleted steps. The tutorial would hold my interest if I was in need of understanding the vast functionality of WMP.

Tutorial Format Here is an example of the bullet point and screen capture used in the tutorial:

What is the tone? The tone of the tutorial is formal. Rather than adding any color to the procedures, the author chooses to be as simple as possible. Regardless of the dryness of the writing, the tutorial successfully holds the person interested because of how straightforward it is.

Are the directions easy to follow? Directions are very easy to follow. All steps that are required to operate certain features of WMP are explained very directly.

Screen Capture Effectiveness The use of selective screen capture helped in illustrating what buttons need to be pressed and what operations would look like.

Do at least one of the lessons from the tutorial and discuss how well/badly it worked For an example, the steps to create a new playlist were followed. The steps were an easy guide to work with, and a new playlist titled "Test Playlist" was successfully created under "My Playlists".

Closing Thoughts While working on our own process manual, one important thing to pay attention to will be keeping different features separated from each other. Many processes are integrated within other operations. We will have be careful to not confuse the reader when explaining the steps to use a certain feature.
