Sociologist What is a Sociologist? A sociologist is a person whose studies social behavior by using various methods such as Empirical Investigation and Critical Analysis. Social Behavior: Is the Actions and reactions of people and other species, the manner in which they behave. Empirical research: Is a way of gaining Knowledge by means of direct and indirect observation or experience. Critical Analysis: Is a subjective writing because it expresses the writer's opinion or evaluation of a text. 

David Emile Durkheim Who is Emile Durkheim? What does he do? He was born in Epinal, France, To a Jewish Family. Emile Durkheim was a sociologist who Emphasized the importance of science, and that sociology should be modeled after the natural sciences. (chemistry, physics etc.) What does he do? Emile Durkheim was most famous for a study of suicide rates in Catholic and Protestant populations. (1897).

Social Science Why is Emile Durkheim important to the study of social science?   Emile Durkheim was always interested in a scientific approach to society. Durkheim was really important to the study of social science as he helped Germany and France in many ways: - From 1882 to 1887 he taught philosophy at several provincial schools in Germany and had many publications of numerous articles on German social science and philosophy, which gained recognition in France. Later on he became the first sociology professor.
