5 WHAT YOU MUST DO TO LOOK FOR WORK WHILE RECEIVING BENEFITS You must search for suitable employment and contact employers each week you are claiming benefits. We recommend that your work search activity include at least one contact with One-Stop Resource Room staff every 8 weeks. Your work search record must contain a dated, detailed list of all job contacts. Failure to make an active search for work may also affect your continued eligibility for benefits.

DOOR administers federally funded grants that benefit employers and jobseekers. These grants are administered under the auspices of the U.S. and New York State Departments of Labor

29 Training Services Criteria WIA Training Services may be provided by DOOR, based upon the availability of funding, to Town of Hempstead/City of Long Beach residents, age 18 and over, who both qualify for and require assistance beyond WIA Core and Intensive Services and who meet federal and state guidelines for the categories described below: Adult needing to obtain self-sufficiency Dislocated Worker

An individual (including a youth with a disability) who requires additional assistance to complete an education program, or to secure and hold employment.
