Brief Zhàoqìng (Chinese: 肇庆 ) is a prefecture-level city of Guangdong province and is considered part of the Pearl River Delta region. It is well known for being a regional tourist hub, and an up-and-coming manufacturing center. Residents from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other nearby cities, as well as people from Hong Kong and Macau, are known to visit the city on weekend for getaways and excursions. The main central city, excluding Seven Star Crags, is fairly flat, but thickly forested mountains lie just outside the city limits. Numerous rice paddies and aquaculture ponds are found on the outskirts of the city. As of 2008, the estimated population of the city proper was 400,000 people. Zhaoqing is located 110 km (68 mi) west of Guangzhou. It lies on the north shores of the Xi River, which flows from west to east, and is opposite of Gaoyao. A plain area lies to the south and west of Zhaoqing, with mountains to the east and north.

Traffic By Air: There is not any airport in Zhaoqing, and the near airports are in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. By Train: San-Mao Railway located at the southwest of Guangdong Province and it is linked with Guang-San Railway in the east, with He-Mao Railway in the west. The railway has eight stops including Zhaoqing and Gaoyao and the distance in Zhaoqing is 81.5 kilometers. By Bus: For self-driving, major roadways include Interstates 321 and 324 and the Guang-Zhao and Guang-Wu Expressways are provided. For inter-city coach, several long distance transportation terminals are provided in the city.

Tourist Attractions Paifang Square Paifang Square is the heart of the Zhaoqing City. This is the square where people for coming to celebrate with concerts, performances, events, and etc. There is a modern performance stage facing the city square. In the early morning, you can see people all walk of life doing something in this square. I saw many groups of people practicing their dances and performances like Tai Chi, Chinese Fan Dance, Drum Dance, Steps, and Chinese Sword Dance. Bicycle riding is common here. Dinghu Mountain: Baoding Park The Baoding Park was built on 23th December 2000 to showcase the bronze ware culture of the ancient society in China especially some famous Dings' displays. It has an area of square meters, a park with public facilities and the Dings' displays. This park was built in added value for Dinghu Mountain as a tourist attraction. Otherwise there are no other alternative attraction than the forest and the lake in Dinghu Mountain.

This Temple was built during the late Ming Dynasty (1633) and completed in It is a historical Buddhist Temple that has many historical relics like the famous Bells and Drums. The Temple is built in the most sacred land on the mountain, where is a place to find peace and learn the teaching of Buddhism blessed by meditation, silence and discipline oneself.

Tourist Attractions Dinghu Mountain: Butterfly Valley Butterfly Valley is a typical sub-tropical rainforest valley. Verdant tree is the idea place for butterfly to habitat and breed. That is where you can see many colorful butterflies flying around and for very high chance that you could see death butterflies laying in this forest. Anyway, the Butterfly Valley is not all about to see the butterflies but to experience the beauty of the Ding Lake, the streams, the falls and the verdant trees.

Maybe it is poor, but I enjoy it. Maybe it is less developed, but I love it. Anyhow, it is a lovely, peaceful city, which always clams me down and cheers me up. That is my hometown.
