Can you help us design a mural for our greenhouse? HELP! Tell us what you think, we need your help! By the end of Raider Time today you will be able to provide feedback on what should be included in a design for our school’s greenhouse.

R U Kidding? Are you interested in earning student service learning hours to help fix the interior (inside) and exterior (outside) of our greenhouse? Are you interested in Helping Redland think of a themed design for our courtyard? If you were to make a design for outside of the greenhouse explain what it would it look like. At the end of the day you will be directed to hand-in your suggestions.

Can you think of any other ways to beautify the courtyard? Would you paint the benches to match the greenhouse or keep them “as is”? What are one or two suggestions you would make about this rock garden and pond?

Creating a design for the greenhouse exterior walls. Including school colors, mascots, and slogans. Involving yourself in the greenhouse beautification project and earn SSL hours to paint the design on the walls, fix up the interior of the greenhouse (for example, the shelves and flower pots. Giving back to nature, yourself, your school, others, and the community.

-RESEARCHING PLANTS TO GROW IN LITTLE LIGHT FOR CLASSROOM USE. -GROW PLANTS IN NEWLY DESIGNED GREEN HOUSE. -DISTRIBUTE PLANTS THROUGHOUT SCHOOL.

STEP 1: Brainstorm Design Ideas 1.FOLLOW THE RUBRIC PASSED OUT IN CLASS. 2.USE OUR SCHOOL COLORS, MASCOT AND SLOGANS TO CREATE A DESIGN FOR OUR GREENHOUSE WALLS, SHELVES, POTS, AND DOOR. 3.DRAW DESIGN ON HANDOUT ADD DETAILS. 4.SUBMIT DESIGN. ANY QUESTIONS? Ask Mr. Healy or Ms. Apatov 5.5 FINALISTS WILL BE CHOSEN. 6.YOU WILL VOTE ON YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN DURING LUNCH. (DATE TO BE DETERMINED) 7.PAINT THE FINAL DESIGN. EARN SSL HOURS TO HELP IMPLEMENT STUDENTS’ IDEAS.

Agenda: Hand out Rubric and Attached Worksheet Brainstorm any suggestions for greenhouse Evaluate what should be communicated in design. Try to incorporate ideas that represents our school. How we respect self, respect others, and respect school in all of our actions!

Criteria for Success: Greenhouse Design Submission Should be easy to read if planning to use text. Original design that communicates Redland pride. Organized and planned carefully, paying close attention to detail. Is visually interesting- can use colored pencils to add color. Design exhibits good craftsmanship when submitting final product-the design should be handed in free of rips, tears, smudges, or folds.
