How to Close RFTS Collect pledges Collect pledges Figure reading minutes Figure reading minutes Order books Order books Deliver books Deliver books

Thank you! Thanks to all who participated in the Reach for the Stars reading incentive program! Our school read 227,211 minutes in 10 days! WOW! We brought in a total of $15, in pledges and this is how it was distributed:30% cash for our school = $4, % in books to the library = $3, % in books directly to the students = $7, Please keep up the great reading habit with your children! We know you will enjoy all the new books! If you should have any questions, please call Kathy Martin with Usborne Books at

Calculate your order Book Bonanza: 50% to kids / 60% to school Example: $1200 in pledges $600 in books to kids + $720 in books to the school $1320 in books need to be ordered X.67 = $884 $884 in retail book fair + $442 in free books $1326 in books will be ordered $ in pledges collected - $ ($884 BF x.17 (commission) = $884-$150.78) $ Commission

Calculate your order Cash Option: 50% to kids + 20% books to school + 30% cash Example: $1200 in pledges $600 in books to kids (50%) + $240 in books to the school (20%) $840 in books need to be ordered X.67 = $562 $562 in retail book fair + $281 in free books $843 in total books $562 retail x.17 (commission) = $95.54 My cost for the books: $562 - $95.54 = $466.46

Calculate your order Cash Option (Cont.) $1200 in total pledges collected - $360 cash to school (30%) $840$ $ $ Commission ***You will earn less with the “cash option” RFTS than the “book bonanza” RFTS. However, the schools tend to want to re-book each year with the cash option.

RFTS vs. Book Fair $ in pledges collected - $ ($884 BF x.17 (commission) = $884 - $150.78) $ Commission RFTS Book Fair $1200 in sales x.17 (commission) = $204 $204 Commission

Thank you for your attention!
