A BIOGRAPHY OF FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE BY:JAMIRA

BACKGROUND  Born in Florence, Italy  Very rich  She was a nurse  Her mom was British  Traveled a lot  Lived in London

1829  She began writing her life story in French.  Florence had been sick at the time she was writing her life story in French.

1853  She became a superintendent of a charity hospital in London.  She wanted to help keep people healthy and active.

1854  She led thirty-eight nurses to serve in the Crimean War.  Florence was very happy when she found out she could go to the Crimean War because she always wanted to help more than just the people in her town.

1860  She opened the Nightingale Training school for nurses.  Florence was never going to give up, ever.

1870  Florence helped start the first British Red Cross.  Florence was very old at the time.

CHARACTER TRAITS  She was a very generous nurse because she like to help people  She was a very respectful and responsible nurse because she treated the patients with respect.  Florence was very caring because she helped many of the hurt soldiers.
