CAUSES OF ASTROCYTOMAS  Researchers have found that cancer develops from mutations within the genes of cells. Which means that cancer is a genetic disease.

SYMPTOMS OF ASTROCYTOMAS  Astrocytoma in the Frontal lobe: Gradual changes in mood Gradual changes in personality Paralysis on one side of the body Headaches

Area affected by Astrocytoma  Astrocytoma affects many different parts of the brain.  One of the parts of the brain that is affected is the frontal lobe of the brain.

People affected by astrocytoma.  Astrocytoma usually appears in people from ages 40 to 60 years of age.

Prognosis of Astrocytomas  Compression  Intrusion  Devastation of mind parenchyma.

Treatments of Astrocytomas  In low grade Astrocytomas the tumor can be removed and 90% of people surive.  There is no treatment for high grade tumors, so all they do to treat it is make the person as comfortable as possible.

Statistics About Astrocytomas  About 7.4% of all brain tumors are astrocytoma.  For low-grade astrocytoma in children is more than 80%.
