Welcome to Fifth Grade! Please place school supplies in the designated areas. Don’t forget to complete the scavenger hunt located on your desk. Don’t forget to sign up for fall conferences. If you have any questions, please feel free to write me a note and leave it in my mailbox.

Discovery Questions Purpose: 1- To allow students to find answers to their “Ah-ha” questions they have in school. 2- To extend and enrich 5th grade standards 3- To create life-long learners Benefits: Independent projects across all content areas to support student learning.

Classroom Community Our classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other. Our class rules are: Be respectful and responsible. Be organized and follow directions. Be on time. Be prepared.

Homework We will assign about 50 minutes of homework every night. This includes 15-20 minutes of reading. Please record in planner daily from homework menu, as well as check Edmodo. Weekly assignments as well as individual assignments. Students will also be required to complete online journal entries (blogs). If you need extra time to work on your homework, please contact us in advance.

Tardiness School starts at 9:05 A.M. Please check in at the school office before coming to class if you are late. Please read school policy carefully in regards to vacation, and scheduled/unscheduled absences.
