Poetry Types https://www.ted.com/talks/lemon_andersen_performs_p lease_don_t_take_my_air_jordans First, work with your partner (the person either sitting next to you in a student desk or, if you are at a table, the person sitting across from you) to figure out either the poetry types in “Column A” or “Column B.” You have now been provided with a handout detailing the different types of poetry.

Bar-A-Day Bar-A-Day: Goals: Each day this week, you will be expected to write at least one stanza (bar) of an ongoing poem. Starting tomorrow, you will have time in class to do so, but it will also be part of your homework. Goals: Create a poetry magazine Each student must keep a “poetry notebook” of their random thoughts, observations, etc.

Closing Summary Circle: As we circle up in the center of the room, share something that you wrote, ask for feedback, or reflect on today’s lesson.
