5 Exit Ticket: Make a connection between you and the author. Write this on an index card and turn in. Don’t forget your name and class period!

6 Bellwork: September 7, 2016 Homecoming Voting today:
Choose 1 boy and 1 girl for 1st period. Have out your article and your ELA composition book. Annotate the AOW (article of the week) using the Annotation handout in your ELA comp book. If you do not finish for bellwork, finish for homework!

9 Text to World: Song Analysis partner activity
With your group, follow the instructions on the analysis sheet to analyze the song, "Wonder" by Natalie Merchant. See the connection from the book to the song. Why did the author choose to mention this song in the beginning of the book?

10 Exit Ticket: Write one element of the exposition. Explain how it is part of the exposition. This should be written on an index card with your 1st and last name and turned in to your class period drawer on your way out.

11 Bellwork: September 8, 2016 Create a Z Chart for the AOW on the back of your annotated AOW. This is due tomorrow, but if you finish, turn it in today.

12 CFA 2 Complete CFA 2 to the best of your ability.
Remember to read the questions completely and choose the BEST answer. Mark your answers on the bubble sheet. Make your marks dark and erase cleanly. When you finish, bring to me to scan. Have out your song analysis sheet from yesterday and continue working until everyone is finished. We will get back into partners after.

Quiz, Quiz, Trade Everyone will receive a question. You will ask someone your question, they will answer. They will ask you their question. You will answer. You both will swap questions. Then move on to find someone else. Repeat. We will play QQT while the song is playing. When the song ends, get back to your seat. Read pgs today.

18 Now: Time for our socratic seminar!
Partner up with your assigned partners. Create 5-7 questions on your AOW. (You will have about 3 minutes) Arrange your desks into two circles. Look at the diagram drawn on the board. Inside circle (A Partners) have about 7 minutes of discussion time. Outside circle (B Partners) will be evaluating their partners. We will swap and repeat!
