1 Types of Poetry Limericks are usually funny or silly, and always have five lines.

2 Types of Poetry A haiku is a short poem invented in Japan. It often describes nature or the world. It is usually made up of three unrhymed lines of 5, 7, 5 syllables.

3 Types of Poetry Free verse is a type of poetry that does not use rhyme but other devices such as alliteration or imagery. It does not have to be any specific length and it can be about anything!
