 A hazard is anything that can cause injury or loss.

 Identification: Seeing a hazard and knowing what it is  Assessment: knowing the risk of each hazard  Control: what may be done to limit the hazard from causing harm or loss

 Elimination: removing the hazard  Control: having a plan to reduce the risk of the hazard  Three main types of Hazard Control:  Engineering- ie. Improving ventilation, adjusting work area  Adminstrative- ie. Training workers  Basic controls- PPE- last resort
