Why it is important to know about the continents It’s important to know about the continents because it allows us to explore and learn about other countries. It helps us to have an understanding on the different foods, languages, and peoples.

NORTH AMERICA  Third largest continent  Most people speak English, Spanish, or French  Only continent with every kind of climate  Surrounded by the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean.  Where Alabama is located

SOUTH AMERICA  Only continent in the world to have wild pink dolphins  Contains 12 countries  Largest rain forest in the world  Has the most people  Andean Condor is the largest bird in the world

EUROPE  Sixth largest continent in size  Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean  A wealthy continent  Temperate forests and grasslands

ASIA  Worlds largest and more people live there  Divided into 5 sub regions  Has many different languages, foods, and cultures  It’s also a temperate environment
