Due in: You need to complete each task. You do not have to do each bonus task but you will get extra ‘P’s if you do! You should spend at least two hours on this homework project. ‘P’s will be awarded for: good effort, original ideas, meeting deadlines, doing bonus tasks There will be an award for overall best homework in your year group Section 1 Research- produce a leaflet, poster or powerpoint Use the internet or books from the library/art dept to research ‘Surrealism’ (an early 20 th Century Art movement). Find out at least 6 facts about this art movement. Save or print at least 2 images by two of the following Surrealist artists: Kay Sage, Dorothea Tanning, Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Man Ray or Max Ernst. Bonus- do a drawing of one of their pieces of work. Observational Drawing Draw at least 3 different everyday objects. Choose objects that have different shapes, textures and functions e.g. a soft toy, a fork, a hairbrush Bonus- take photographs of your objects ‘Morphed’ drawings Look at the Surrealist artist Meret Oppenheim’s ‘Cup’ Produce an image based on your observational drawings that is a surreal combination of different elements e.g a fork turns into fur, a teddy is covered in the prongs of a hairbrush instead of fur Bonus- make a ‘morphed’ object in 3D
