SCHOOLS – A view of the Future Thinking/Feeling/Saying Children:- thinking that they can choose & attend breakfast a after school activities – whether their parents support this/can pay for this or not. Feeling that school is safe, caring, fun, nurturing environment from 8.00 – 6.00 (term time) & that there is a haven during long holidays Life is tough – exams, competition, stress!! I need help support Someone who cares!! Well trained adults working together What will Ofsted expect of me next? (Teacher) What about my pension? (Teacher) DOING Making full use of facilities/resources Working more independently Taking a step back & allowing others in the community to take the lead Still working with the schools Will there be enough funds? (to pay for extra-staff )

COMMUNITY – A View of the future Thinking/Feeling/Saying Children are safe and looked after Community seeing the school as stop for service access [School having enough resources and expertise to meet these needs] Enjoying living in the area due to services/facilities available & opportunities for active involvement in running them Seeing joined up provision for all activities (Time!!) Accessibility Doing Still doing more for the community [weekend clubs] Working more with/in schools Talking: to schools and one another Taking an active part in provision on offer because it is relevant & needed

Families/parents – A view of the Future Thinking/Feeling/Saying Flexible, Quality Childcare I can work knowing my children are safe I feel guilty wanting my children at home when all friends are doing exciting activities at school I can’t afford child care I wish I understand what and how my children learns at school I know who to speak to get the support, advice, guidance I need to help me guide/bring up my children – I feel confident Juggling work/childcare I have a real choice – an equal opportunity to look after my own children at home I can’t make ends meet Doing Learning together ? Better Economic well being Feel Guilty

CHILDREN – View of the Future Thinking/Feeling/Saying When do I spend time with my parents? Good choice of activities The last 5 year were great (at ARC) Growing in confidence due to the wide range of social interactions/opportunities to try new things in a safe environment Children knowing where to turn for help, advice, support with all aspects of their social, emotional and educational needs Can I get my own home? Did I do something different then! I’m now one of a group – I’ve lost my own identity Doing 2-4 hrs physical activity/sport/week More play areas and parks I can now speak English (white working class as well!!) Nothing much I have many friends at school
