MODIFYING MASTERS, CUSTOM THEME, SLIDE SHOW COMMANDS, TRANSITIONS AND TIMING 12/16/13

Keyboarding Take the next 5 minutes to practice keyboarding using either a keyboarding website or an assignment from another class.

Warm-up Think about the definition of the work “master”. How might that definition be applied to powepoint slides?

Slide Masters A master is a set of stored information specific to a theme within a Microsoft program Contains position and size of text, content placeholders, fonts, backgrounds, colors and effects. View Tab – Master Views group Three options: Slide, Handouts, Notes Advantage of using masters to modify your presentation is that it allows you to make universal changes to your entire presentation without having to go to each individual slide

Backgrounds Background = the area behind the text or graphic. Background Graphic = object placed on the slide master. Background tips: Use contrasting colors Avoid using images as background Make the background appealing but not detracting Match colors to topic or mood.

Slide Show commands Paste the keyboard commands into your notes Other commands can be accessed by right clicking on the presentation Annotation tools Go to menus Slide Show progress Laser pointer Newer versions of Word have the tools at the bottom of the presentation screen

Transitions Special effects for each slide are available under the transitions tab Under this tab, you can adjust the speed of the transition You can also adjust the length of time each slide will stay on the screen. In the Slide Sorter Layout, you can see which slides have transitions and the timing you have assigned to each slide.

For today… MAPS testing takes first priority!!! Complete the following assignments in order… Modify Masters Customize Backgrounds and theme Use slide show commands Set slide transitions and timings
