Design Template provides consistency in design and color throughout the entire presentation including: Color Schemes Layout or Style Font and Font Size Effects The first slide in a new PowerPoint presentation is the Title.

To change the slide layout go to the Home Tab > Slides group To change the design of the slide go to the Design Tab > Themes Group If a slide layout or design is changed the text and object stays the same and the objects are repositioned

The path to insert custom animation or slide transitions go to the animation tab Transition Group Used to progress from one slide to another. Animation Used to apply an effect to graphics or text

19 STEPS TO CREATING A PRESENTATION
Blank Presentation Use the blank design (Office Theme) to concentrate on the words and message before adding color and design. Insert Information Key in manually on Slide Tab Use Outline Tab

20 Outline Tab  The Outline tab provides a quick and easy way to create a presentation. An outline created in Word can be uploaded and will create a basic PowerPoint

29 The question is . . .how can you make sure that your presentations are not a painful or boring experience for the audience?

30 Here are a few tips to help you improve the quality of your presentations:

31 1. Keep it short and simple: Plan on each slide being on the screen for no more than 2 – 3 minutes (one slide for each topic).

32 2. Be consistent. Use a similar design and color scheme – with no more than 2 or 3 font styles throughout the presentation.

33 3. Don’t go overboard: Use animation and slide transitions for emphasis only.

34 4.Practice, practice, practice. . . until you get the timing right.
