C OLLOQUIAL LANGUAGE ( ARKIKIELI ) Originates from Latin word meaning speaking together Informal way of writing and speaking, but not as informal as slang Not accepted in formal situations or writing Used in everyday conversations and conversational purposes Words, phrases and aphorisms

J ARGON CONTINUED Jargon’s main purpose is to ease conversation between people who are aware and know the topic well enough to understand the jargon. Because of this jargon uses many abbreviations Another reason why jargon is used is to exclude others who are not within the jargon group
