First Six Weeks A- Z Questions August 25 – October 3, 2014

In the warm up section of your spiral, make a list of ten things that you think the new 5 th graders should know about being here at Mary Orr. A

For today’s warm up, provide a few examples of something that can be considered innate. Explain your reasoning. C

Verbs are action words. Verbs can be actions you see, like jump and eat. Verbs can also be actions you cannot see, like think and dream. Make a list of 25 different verbs. G

Adverbs are words that tell more about the verb. Adverbs describe HOW the action was. Adverbs usually end in ly. If your verb is run, then the adverb describes HOW you run (slowly, quickly, fast). Make a list of 25 adverbs, one for each verb from yesterday. H

Look at your first five nouns from last week. Write five sentences using those first five nouns. Each sentence should have the noun, the adjective, the verb, and the adverb. I
