Welcome: Fact or Opinion Description: This webquest allows the student to extend and apply his/her knowledge of fact and opinon. Grade Level: 2-3

Introduction First we are going to look at facts and opinions about pumpkins. Then, we are going to express ourselves by writing about what we know. Look at the link below to get some rules to follow when looking for facts and opinions. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pBBH65x47E

Process Part 1: Students will look at a video on facts and opinions. The students will also look at a video on pumpkins and practice finding facts and opinions. Part 2: Students will explore different links on pumpkins and find five facts on pumpkins. Part 3: Students will use the five facts and write a paragraph using the 5 facts. Part 4: Students will then give their paragraph to another person and that person will write a opinion paragraph about the fact paragraph.

Evaluation So, how did you do! You are going to be evaluated on your participation, demonstration of knowledge, and creativity. Conclusion Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have used online links to do research on pumpkins and you have learned about facts and opinions. You even became authors by writing great paragraphs on pumpkins.

Teacher Page This web quest is a fun way to look at facts and opinions on pumpkins.  This web quest can take about 20 minutes to a hour depending on the grade level your students are on.  It will be good to stop and discuss some of the information found as a class.    Standards 2.
