PROJECT TITLE CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME FOR LICENSED LAND SURVEYORS

PERFORMANCE PROBLEM INABILITY TO PREPARE CORRECT LAND SURVEY FOR REGISTRATION OF LAND BY LICENSED LAND SURVEYORS

NEED Government is acutely aware that many of the 1500 licensed Land Surveyors are preparing wrong sketches This has led to inconvenience to Buyers and Sellers during registration of land It has also led to a litany of litigations after the registration of land

NEED … Based on the letter of intent received from the Survey Department, Government of Karnataka, a Project Proposal for undertaking Capacity Building Programme for licensed Land Surveyors across the State has been designed

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE At the end of the training programme, the licensed Land Surveyors will be able to prepare correct sketches

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR The participants would be having some knowledge and experience in conducting the land survey Data regarding their experience would be collected from the District Revenue Offices

KEY CONSTRAINTS Location of the training centres and adjacent open field for conducting practical classes To overcome this key constraint, transportation of trainees to the nearby open field for practical sessions will be arranged

AIM OF THE TRAINING  Preparation of correct land survey sketches of the land parcels

BENEFITS  Land owners and purchasers will be benefitted  Registration of land will be made easy  Land records will be updated  Instances of Land Litigation will be reduced

PROPOSED TRAINING DESIGN >>> LEARNING UNIT #3 PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE  Trainees will be able to measure land and prepare correct land sketch ENABLING OBJECTIVE [EO] #1  Trainees will be able to conduct land survey using survey instruments, viz., Chain, cross- staff, etc.

TRAINING DURATION DURATION  6 – Days No. OF TRAINEES  25 per batch No. OF PROGRAMMES  2 per district  Total : 60 Programmes for 1500 trainees

TRAINING BUDGET BUDGET  Rs. 75,000/- per training 3,000/- per trainee TOTAL BUDGET  Rs. 45 lakh PROPOSED FUNDING PATTERN  Paid Programme ; Trainees will bear the cost of training, viz., Rs. 3,000/-

ACTION PLAN ACTION  Licensed land surveyors will be trained : 1.To identify the land 2.By making use of survey instruments and collecting relevant data, which will help in preparing the correct survey sketch AIM  To prepare correct land survey map RESOURCES (POST TRAINING) AND METHODS  Hand outs, check lists, and conversion table  Method >> Practice TIME SCALE  3 Months
