WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" BMW, Christoph Lueginger DISTINGUISH BETWEEN MEASURED AND RECORDED

Page 2 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSAL WLTP Drafting TF, BMW, Proposal:  Every value, that should be recorded in a test sheet / report / whatever should be marked as "recorded". This should help regional legislation to identify, what should appear in official documents.  Every test result, that is only needed temporarily (e.g. RCB signal during test, velocity signal during coast down), and is further processed (not a final value), should be marked as "measured".  If necessary, we could put a sentence to the GTR, that "measured data" should be kept at the OEM for [TBD] years. This issue was a task identified by the Admin-WG. QUESTION FROM DC: Expert opinion is requested.

Page 3 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #1, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 4,  No need to keep the signals after F0F1F2 was calculated.  Delete "and recorded". This is in the section on the coastdown method using stationary anemometry. DC PROPOSAL: accept the proposed change to delete "and recorded".

Page 4 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #2, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 4,  No need to keep the signal after F0F1F2 was calculated.  Delete "shall be recorded". This is in the section on the coastdown method using on-board anemometry. Restructuring of the sentence and deletion of "shall be recorded" DC PROPOSAL: Relative wind speed shall be measured at a minimum frequency of 1 Hz and to an accuracy of 0.3 m/sec. [The next sentence remains unchanged ]

Page 5 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #2, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW, This is in the section on the coastdown method using on-board anemometry. DC PROPOSAL: Wind direction shall be relative to the direction of the vehicle. The relative wind direction (yaw) shall be measured with a resolution of 1 degree and an accuracy of 3 degrees; the dead band of the instrument shall not exceed 10 degrees and shall be directed towards the rear of the vehicle.

Page 6 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #3, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 4,  No need to keep the signals after F0F1F2 was calculated.  Delete "and recorded". This is in the section on the coastdown method using on-board anemometry. DC: accept the proposal to delete "and recorded"?

Page 7 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #4, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 4,  No need to keep the signals after F0F1F2 was calculated.  Change "recorded" into "measured". This is from measurement of running resistance using the torque meter method. DC: accept the proposal to change "recorded" into "measured"?

Page 8 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #5, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 4,  No need to keep the signal after cd*A was calculated.  Delete "recorded". The last sentence in the paragraph below has been changed to: The aerodynamic drag shall be measured at least for [60] seconds and at a minimum frequency of [5] Hz. The result shall be the average drag during the measurement. COMMENT FROM DC: Has already been incorporated into the GTR.

Page 9 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #6, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 4,  No need to keep the signal after force was calculated.  Delete "recorded". This paragraph is in the section on the flat belt measurement. DC PROPOSAL: Delete the second sentence, as it says what the first sentence says.

Page 10 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #7, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 5,  No need to keep dyno velocity signal after evaluation (e.g. drive trace error) was done.  Change "recorded" into "measured". Annex 5, Test equipment: "The following specific requirements relate to the dynamometer manufacturer's specifications." PROPOSAL: Change "recorded" to "measured".

Page 11 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #8, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW, DC asks: concerns calibration of a CFV constant volume sampler. Assuming the variable flow restrictor is operated by hand, are the data also recorded by hand? DC: appears to be OK.  Annex 5, and consequently  Signals should be measured (for subsequent calculations), but not kept.  Change "recorded" into "measured" (2x).

WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #9, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW, DC asks: concerns calibration of a UFM constant volume sampler. Assuming the flow valve is operated by hand, are the data also recorded by hand? DC: appears to be OK.  Annex 5, and consequently  Again, signals should be measured (for subsequent calculations), but not kept.  Change "recorded" into "measured" (2x).

Page 13 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #10, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 5,  Again, signals should be measured (for subsequent calculations), but not kept.  Delete "and recorded". Annex 5, Test equipment "Particle number emissions measurement equipment. DC: Does the subgroup agree with deleting "and recorded"?

Page 14 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #11, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 6,  No need to keep dyno velocity signal after evaluation (e.g. drive trace error) was done.  Change "recorded" into "measured". Annex 6, Test procedure. Vehicle preconditioning [The word "vehicle" is understood before the word "speed"]. DC: Does the subgroup agree with replacing "recorded" with "measured"?

Page 15 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #12, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 6,  No need to keep signal after evaluation and application of CO 2 correction.  Change "recorded" into "measured". Annex 6, Test procedure, Emissions test (Type 1 test). DC: Does the subgroup agree with replacing "recorded" with "measured"?

Page 16 WLTP DRAFTING TF, "RECORDED" #13, RECORDED  MEASURED WLTP Drafting TF, BMW,  Annex 7,  No need to keep signal after evaluation.  Change the first of the two "recorded" into "measured". Annex 7, Calculations. Determination of diluted exhaust gas volume DC: Does the subgroup agree with replacing "recorded" with "measured"?
