1 Additional discussion points from the gearshift issues task force
WLTP-11-8e Additional discussion points from the gearshift issues task force 1

2 Additional discussion points
The following points were discussed within the GS TF and since it was requested to incorporate in or consider them for the GTR, they should be brought to the IWG: Annex 1, section 2, vehicle classification, Section 3, add checksums of vehicle speed, Section 7, add request to report detailed informtion about downscaling, if applied. Annex 2, add request for the calculation of the average gear. The points 1b, 1c and 2 could possibly also be discussed in the drafting task force. 2

3 Annex 1, section 2, vehicle classification
During the last TF meeting some OEM members required, that the vehicle classification should no longer be based on the kerb mass of the vehicle, because the kerb mass for a vehicle family will not be a fixed value rather than a range. They requested to replace rated power to kerb mass by rated power to test mass. This request was in principle shared by the group, but the following points need to be clarified: It must be ensured that vehicles within an interpolation family belong to the same class, Would interpolation be possible, if vehicle H gets downscaling but vehicle L does not. 3

4 Annex 1, section 2, vehicle classification
In any case vehicle data for kerb mass ranges and test mass ranges within an interpolation family would be required from several OEMs in order to propose corresponding and appropriate vehicle class borderlines for rated power to test mass ratios. 4

5 Annex 1, sections 3 & 7 Another request from the TF is to provide data, that allows the identification of the specific cycle, which was used for test bench measurements. Checksums of the vehicle speed should be added in section 3 in order to identify the cycle version, which was used (see table 1). In section 7 the request to report detailed information about the downscaling (downscaling factor, vmax, distance driven), in case it was applied, should be added. 5

6 Annex 1, section 3, checksum of v
Table 1 6

7 Annex 2, average gear A similar request of the TF is related to the gear use calculation. The average gear for v >= 1km/h should be calculated and reported. This would ease the possibility to assess the correct application of the gearshift prescriptions. 7
