The Visionary High School Drop Out to Millionaire Walter Elias "Walt" Disney was a German American born in Hermosa, Illinois (near Chicago) on December 5, He had 5 brothers and one sister. Walt was raised in Marceline, Missouri. This is where he initially began painting and drawing. To earn money he sold his works to neighbors, family and friends. Walter went to McKinley High School in Chicago, took up photography and cartoonist for the school paper. He also took night classes at the Art Institute in Chicago, at the age of 16 he dropped out of school. Over the years Walter became a person of great influence, and an animator, producer, businessman cartoonist, film director, voice actor, screenwriter and actor. The Success of “WALT DISNEY Productions” The Silly Symphonies was created starring Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse. Flowers and Trees was the first color cartoon The 3 Little Pigs was a hit and the song “Who is afraid of the Big Bad Wolf” debuted – Snow White and the 7 Dwarves came out and made million dollars, during the Great Depression.
