2 Who is Walt Disney? Walter Elias Disney Born in December, 5, 1901 Chicago, Illinois Died in December, 15, 1966 St.Joseph's Hospital, Los Angeles, at 9:35 am On July, 13, 1925 Walt and Lillian got married. In 1933 his daughter Diane was born In 1936 he adopted a little girl named Sharon.

3 What did he do? Walt Disney started with nothing and ended his life with a lot. He started out drawing little cartoons in a small piece of paper and now, his name is recognized around the world. He showed people that his imagination could go beyond Belief. He always wanted something new, something original, and he always surprised the public.

4 Childhood Three brothers, one sister Repeated second grade in Benton Grammar School. He delivered newspapers Herbert and Raymond were troubled Roy turned 19 Elias took his anger on Walt

5 Adolescence 15 years old as a newspaper and snack seller on a train 16 years old lied about age to help red cross on World War I An year later he was hired by an ad company for Christmas rush ads Then in 1920 he was hired by the Kansas city film ad

6 Adulthood Then in 1922 Walt started his own company called Laugh-O-Grams Films Inc. Then Walt Disney had a brilliant idea and created “Oswald The Lucky Rabbit” But Laugh-O-Grams didn’t make enough money and people started quitting Then he had no money so he went back to New York and on the way there a famous mouse was born Oswald

7 Adulthood II In 1948 he had an Amusement Park Ideas so he started building Disneyland Then in July, 17, 1955 Disneyland opened in Hollywood, California and it was a disaster!! After all the malfunctioning rides got fixed, one million guests had visited Disneyland on the following seven weeks

8 Disney Today!! Today there are 4 Disney amusement parks. One in Hollywood California called Disneyland and one in Florida called Walt Disney World, One in Tokyo called Tokyo Disneyland, and one in Italy called Euro Disneyland

9 Awards Flowers and trees was the first cartoon to win an academy award Walt Disney ‘s snow white got a special academy award, one large and seven small ones Then he won an academy award for his hit movie “Seal Island” One of his songs called Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Walt Disney also won 29 other awards

10 Theodore Roosevelt Theodore Roosevelt 1858-1919 Theodore was born in 1858, New York and died in 1919.He was president between the years of 1901-1909.He was part of the Republican Party. He was 42 when he was president.

11 Interview If you still owned “Oswald The Lucky Rabbit”, which cartoon would you have worked on harder? Mickey Mouse or Oswald? Did you ever plan to have Disney amusement parks around the world? Do you think that Perseverance kept you going?
