The Outsiders By: S.E Hinton Controversial for gang violence, underage drinking, smoking, and gang violence. Published in 1967.

The Outsiders (Film) *AFTER* we have all read the book, we will watch the movie in class. Released in Starred many big name actors of the time period.

The Outsiders Project After we finish reading, you will select your favorite character from the book. Write a 3 page paper on why they are you favorite character and how you relate to them. Present the paper to the class. Dressing like the character will help your grade. Aw Man! Not A Project!!

To Kill A Mockingbird Published 1960 Extremely controversial due to racial injustice, among other social issues.
