4 My Favorite Book My favorite book when I was in middle school was The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. It’s a story about a boy named Ponyboy, his family and his gang. It’s considered one of the first YA novels ever written.

5 Your Turn This week I want you to write about your favorite book. In a short essay (3 paragraphs) tell me about your favorite book. Paragraph 1- Introduce the book: author, title, genre. Paragraph 2- Summarize the plot of the story and discuss the characters. Who was your favorite one? Paragraph 3- Explain why you enjoyed the book so much. Would you recommend your friends to read it?
