Goals of This Course To develop an awareness of the range, scope, and complexity of the issues and problems related to the strategic management of technology and innovation, this course is designed: –To develop an understanding of the “state of the art” of the strategic management of technology and innovation. –To develop understanding about the process of bringing “newness” into an organization—through internal innovation and/or through external strategic alliances. –To develop a conceptual framework for assessing and auditing the technology capabilities of a business organization. –To develop insight concerning the skills necessary to be effective as a general manager in the innovation process and/or alliance building process.

Evaluations 10% Attendance and Participation 40% Final Exam 50% Group Project –Groups should be formed before Sept. 28th, –Topic of projects should be turned in on Oct. 19th, –Project presentations are scheduled on Dec. 28th, 2009 and January 4th, Ten teams will be selected through a lottery system. –Project report is due on January 4th, 2010.
