Find the adjectives from the following sentences :- 1) The man is brave. 2) My mother has a new car. 3) Our school is big and beautiful. 4) I am happy. 5) My big dog is strong.

Regular adjectives Regular adjectives come before the noun to describe it. I bought some beautiful flowers. Adjectives have no plural form. Unlike in Arabic, we do not make adjectives plural when they describe plural nouns. The adjectives come at the end to describe the subject. The exam was easy. The word easy comes to describe how the exam was.

COMPARISON OF ADJECTIVES Equal We use as + adjective + as when we want to show that two things are equal. I am as happy as my friend. We add not when we want to show that two things are not equal.. My grades are not as high as yours. My brother is as brave as the lion. Rahat is not as big as Tel Aviv.

Comparative We use the comparative to compare between two people or two things. The first side – short adjective + er – than – the second side The car is faster than the bicycle. How we form the adjective in the comparative. Spelling Rules :- If the adjective ends in e, we add only r. nice nicer than

We add –er to adjectives of one syllable. long longer than cold colder than To adjectives of two syllables ending in y,(change the y to i ) then add er. happy happier than heavy heavier than

If the adjective ends in consonant – vowel – consonant double the last letter + er. big bigger than fat fatter than We never double the letters ( w, x, y ). low lower than Exceptions : good better than bad worse than far farther than

For the long adjective that has two syllable and more. more + long adjective - than The pen is more expensive than the pencil. ComparativeEqualAdjective Fill in the correct form of the adjective :- new bad beautifu l pretty hot nice

Superlative :- For the short adjective we use the –short adjective + est. str ong the strongest nice the nicest tall the tallest happy the happiest For the long adjective we use the- most-long adjective She is the most beautiful. I am the happiest. August is the hottest. January is the coldest. English is the most interesting.
