Website Buttons and Calls-To-Action For PTAs & PTOs No designer or design software required!

The Purpose of “Buttons” or Calls-To-Action A call-to-action is a marketing term. It can be a button, graphic, or text that gives your visitor a clear direction to take action. What do you want them to do? You can explain it in a wordy paragraph or accomplish the same thing with a graphic that is colorful and catches their attention. “Buttons” can also be used for navigation. The “Buttons” or “Calls to Action” link to something. If your Call to Action is directing parents to Donate To Your PTO – you will link to your Open Forms page. Using buttons as navigation you can link to: Back to Home Content pages on your site Websites other than your own Online directory Sign-up to volunteer there are an endless number of ideas!

How To Use These Buttons Customize the button – if needed Save the button as a picture Upload the picture into your Membership Toolkit file cabinet Insert the picture onto your website page or into your Link the picture to the next step. Design Hints Choose a style that matches your website Navigation buttons should be consistent throughout your site (square corners or rounder corners, etc)

Customizing Your Calls-To-Action - Changing Colors Want your calls-to-action to match your school colors? All you need is to know what the colors are in hex or rgb. A hex code is a 6-character alpha-numerical code that represents a color. The RGB represents the Red, Green, and Blue color combination needed to present a color. This can vary by different manufacturers. PowerPoint can help you find the color. When changing the color for a box, choose the Fill / More Colors. Choose the magnifying glass. Move this over the color on your screen that you want to duplicate!

Customizing Your Calls-To-Action - Creating Your Own The Calls-To-Action included in our PowerPoint are ready to be saved. But you may want to customize them with your colors or your text preferences. Play around and have fun.  To edit, select the CTA and go to the Arrange Menu and choose to “ungroup” the image. Many of the CTAs are layers of images and text. Once you have the finished product, you will need to select all of the layers and “group” them together.  Once you have the final CTA, you have selected all of the layers to be in one “group”, you can right click on the image and save the image as a picture.
