WHAT IS LOGISTICS? Logistics - The science of planning, organizing and managing activities that provide goods or services. - - (MDC, LogLink / LogisticsWorld, 1997) Logistics - The procurement, maintenance, distribution, and replacement of personnel and materiel. -- (Webster’s Dictionary) Logistics means planning for and having the right thing, at the right place, at the right time.

Opportunities in Logistics Ranked number 78 in top 100 US jobs and number 20 among business jobs by US News and World Report. Department of Labor estimates over 25% increase in logistics jobs from 2010 to In Army, 62,000 civilian jobs in logistics or about 22% of all civilian jobs.
