Opening Question  Reference Letters  Based on the name or previous knowledge, what do you think a reference letter is?  What is the purpose of a reference letter?  How might you use a reference letter?

Reference Letter  Contains statements about your character, abilities, skills, and attitudes. Can be a valuable tool.  Use when applying for jobs  Attaching to employment application, resume, or post-interview letter.  Can present during a job interview Also keep to original copy and disturbed copies of the letter.

How to get a reference letter  Ask for them..  Who could you ask to write you a reference letter?  Sometimes they will ask you to write your own, then they will edit and sign.  If possible, reference letters should invite readers to call/contact for more details.
