Volunteering and Fundraising Picture?

vTeam Runs both regular and one-off projects, for individuals and for whole societies (though there will be fewer one-off projects than last year) Will organise travel and any required documentation for you For more info: essex.su/vteam

Recognition Volunteering hours are logged in vTeam passports – collect yours from Reception Just 10 hours of volunteering are needed for your first vTeam certificate, with additional certificates awarded for more hours Your efforts may win you recognition at the Annual Awards, either as an individual or a society

Other Opportunities If you have your own links with charities or voluntary organisations, you are welcome to volunteer with them instead. Standards Make sure you update your society’s Standards Pages with all the details about your activity. To work towards an award, you will need: BRONZESILVERGOLD Provide two volunteering opportunities (one must be a Societies Guild event) Provide three volunteering opportunities (two must be a Societies Guild event) Provide five volunteering opportunities (two must be a Societies Guild event)

Fundraising

Fundraising is a great way to boost your club funds or to donate to a good cause. However, because the SU is itself a registered charity: It is illegal to make donations to any charity from SU funds, which includes your society account, and It is illegal to subsidise donations to any charity from SU funds, which includes your society account. Any money raised for charity MUST be paid into the RAG account, and expenses MUST be deducted beforehand – they cannot subsequently be claimed from your society’s accounts.
