Jobs in The TV Industry Are you interested in the film industry? Have you got the talent? Do you know what you want to do? Well if that’s the case you have come to the right place to learn more about the paths you can take and to pick what suits you best! These are the jobs found in the film industry and these Include: - Management (Manages the production) Production Manager Director - Creative (Includes ideas, writing and developing concepts) Screen Writer Producer - Editorial (Makes Decisions about the final product) Film Editor (Online/ Offline) Assistant Editor Colourist - Technical (Specialist with equipments, Camera, Lights, Microphones etc) Camera Operator Camera Operator Assistant Light Operator - Research (Researches Locations, Casts, Stories etc..) Media Researchers Specialist Researcher - Finance (Takes control of the funding and the budget) Production Accountant Finance Manager - Organizational (Makes sure everything is organized) Exhibition Organizers Production Coordinator - Administrative (Does filing and keeps contracts and documents) Casting Health and Safety Location Planning Transportation Catering

Specific Roles  The Director has the important role of being in charge of the whole production of the film which is mainly controlling the plot of the film, directing actors, choosing filming locations, managing the camera movements, how the lighting is used and finally the timing of the score. This job is more creative than some other roles as it is apart of the creative team who initially start the project.  The Producers role is to organize and control matters such as raising the funding for the production, hiring important personnel and sorting out contracts and other managerial tasks that need to be done. The producer takes part in the project from start to finish and works along side the director. This role can be classified as managerial and also creative as this role is involved in in the production and documentations.  Film Editors are responsible for assembling the footage shot during production and works closely with the director to put it all together into a final project. The role is very creative and takes a lot of time and patience to succeed.  The Camera Operator as obvious as it is, is in charge of operating the camera and works closely along side the Director of Photography. This role is more technical than anything as it requires camera skills and techniques to accomplish a successful scene.

 Media Researcher create or develop ideas for programs, using their knowledge and understanding of the TV industry, and present their findings to decision makers. They work in all genres of TV shows from sports to comedy and from sit-coms to soaps.  The Production Accountant is responsible for managing the finances and making records of purchases and rentals during the time span of the project. In this job it is important to be precise with the finances or else the project can be doomed to fail.  The Production Coordinator is given the role of organizing logistics, this can vary from hiring crew, equipment rental and making bookings. This job is very important and requires that all the bookings made are scheduled for the right time.  The Casting Director works with the Director and Producer and suggests possible actors for certain roles and helps arrange these interviews for the potential characters. He has directed and written many famously loved films such as the Clerks Movies and spin off’s of his comedy couple of Jay and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) in ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ or in his other films where they make an appearance such as in Mall Rats, Chasing Amy and Dogma. Kevin has a talent for comedy in his own original style where originality truly is. Seth McFarlane Seth McFarlane is a screenwriter, an actor and a producer. He is famous for his hits such as Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show. He started his career working for the company Cartoon Network which is aimed at children making the all known Dexter’s Laboratory and other popular Kid shows. His most recent movie is Ted which received high ratings and is in the process of making a sequel  Stanley Kubrick Stanley is also an American screenwriter, director and producer and was born in New York. Despite him having bad grades at school his father wanted to help him find an interest and so bought him a camera for his thirteenth birthday. Since starting his career he has made many famous films such as Space Odyssey, Full Metal Jacket and The Shinning.
