≪ Explain why you chose this topic ≫ Now, I am reading Edger’s book “The Fall of the House of Usher. This story very scary but interesting. This story is not complex. It is very light reading. And I love mystery so much!!

≪ Give any important historical background ≫ Edger Alan Poe was born in America Massachusetts in Soon after his birth, he lost his parents and was adopted by merchant Allan. He went to university but the university announced him expulsion. Then he joined the army and military academy. After that he started writing. He wrote “The Black Cat” “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” and so on. In 1833, he got married his cousin Virginia Clemm. However she died because of tuberculosis in After two years later he also died mysterious in 1849.

The Black Cat Published 1843 There was a man who likes animal. He had a lot of animal. Especially he loved Black Cat named Pluto. One day a man got druck and he hollowed cat eye. Then he killed Pluto by hanging from tree. That night his house was burned and he lost fortune. He started find cat similar Pluto because he felt pangs of coscience. Finally he found cat! But the cat had no eye. A man felt scary and killed cat. His wife stopped but she also killed. Police found his crime and he was hanged for murder like Pluto.

The Barrel of Amontillado There was a man who suffered from Fortunate. A man decided revenge Fortunate. One day a man told Fortunate “I have a Amontillado”. Amontillado is alcoholic drink. Fortunate likes this drink very much. Two men went to the house of man. A man took Fortunate basement and locked Fortunate in basement! Since then there is no one opened basement door 50 years.

≪ My opinion ≫ When I read Edger’s book, I feel scary. But this book is light reading. I want you to read Edger’s book. I was surprised Edger had died only 40. And also surprised he got married his cousin 13 years old.
