Texas State University Student Branch IEEE Central Texas Section Central Section Meeting January 24, 2015 San Marcos, TX Dr. Larry Larson

IEEE Central Texas Section Chapter Leadership Team l Over the past year we have had between members participating in events. PositionTerms of OfficeName Chair Kyle Vice Chair/Chair of Computer Society Kurstie Treasurer Garet Robotics Chair Jaime

IEEE Central Texas Section 2014 Phase 1 Chapter Expenditures History Received $1000 for Phase I to cover projects and events. Expenditures R5 Robot $ Freescale Cup Robots $78.58 Social Events and Marketing $ Remaining Funds $494.28

IEEE Central Texas Section R5 Robot l The R5 Robot is coming together nicely, with omni- wheels and a wooden chassis cut from the water jets from the engineering building itself. Coding was turbulent at first, but hurdles have been overcome and am making fine progress on the robot.

IEEE Central Texas Section Freescale Cup Competition l The competition is one where students build robots to complete a lap on a track as fast as they can by using a camera to follow the line in the middle of the speedway. l A few robots are already complete and those teams are helping others with their projects. Teams were given kits donated from Freescale that came with the chassis and microprocessor.

IEEE Central Texas Section Social Events l Our first meeting was a great success by attracting a crowd of more than 35 people. We attracted and introduced IEEE to a lot of new faces and plan to have more members in the future.
