Location States of Oregon, Alaska, California, Washington large portion of Canada, Europe, and Asia 50°N-60° (up) Where the boreal forest is located.

Tourist Attractions Yellowstone national park, and Jasper national park in Canada are some tourist attractions. (down) Boreal forest in jasper national park.

The animals in the Taiga Forest eat mostly seeds from the trees Some animals like the bear hibernate during the winter. A Lynx ->

Animals Some animals like birds migrate or fly south for the winter. Some of the animals are the Ermine, the Lynx, and the Snowshoe Rabbit. A snowshoe rabbit->

Plants in the Taiga The plants in the Taiga are accustomed to the cold climate. The seeds of the tree are in cones. Each tree has thick bark to protect from the cold. Pine trees->

Plants Most plants can not grow in the Taiga because of the cold. The main plants in the Taiga are coniferous trees. And some mosses. Moss->

Land and Agricultural Uses Used for growing plants Some is open woodlands with spaced out trees Some land is covered by lakes and rivers The soil is poor and acidic. This is what the taiga looks like.

Environmental Concerns Acid rain is an environmental concern that happens when pollutants and air mix together. Another environmental concern is erosion that is caused by water pollution. Mountain in the taiga.

Summers are warm enough to melt any snow from the winter Springs and autumns are so short they don’t really exist The average temperature varies from -5°C to 5°C In the summer the high is 70°F and the low is 20°F This is a picture of the Taiga.

Climate in the Taiga Winters are very cold with snow that can go well above your head The temperature is below freezing for 6 months In the winter the high is 30°F and the low is -65°F This is snow on a branch of a coniferous tree.

Precipitation in the Taiga Most of the precipitation comes in the summer months The precipitation comes in the form of rain, snow, and dew drops Total yearly precipitation is inches (30-85 cm) This is a picture of a stream in the Taiga.
