Banned Books Week By : Johann Ruiz

 The name of the book is “Always Running” and the author is Luis J. Rodriguez.  In the book “Always Running” by Luis J. Rodriguez, the excerpt is about the life of Luis and its gang related.  The book is in relation to banned books week because of the bad language that is used and the sex scenes.

 The reason the book is on “the list” is because of the bad language they use and the way they describe the sex scene.  People think it is uncomfortable when they describe the sex scene.  There is also parents who don’t want their kids to learn about this.

 I feel good about the excerpt because you can learn from it.  I think there is times when censorship is needed, but I don’t think they should ban the book.  I would allow my child to read this book but only if they were in high school because they will eventually learn from it.
