Presentation transcript:

1. Posting online is when you upload anything on the Internet, like photos, videos and information. a. Give me an example of something you have posted online.

1. If you post photos, videos, information or comments online anyone can see them and they are no longer private. Examples: a. A photo of you drinking at a party is posted on the Internet where your parents, teachers, coach, employer, friends or minister may see the photos because the Internet is not private. The consequences may be that you get grounded, suspended, kicked off the team, fired from your job, embarrassed in front of your friends and family, could be arrested, etc. b. When someone posts lies about you online your reputation could be ruined; friendships broken; and you may get in trouble with parents, teachers, boss, or even the law. c. When you post something on Facebook, your friends can see it but their friends can also see it, and it is there forever. Think before you post.

1. Does anyone else have any other reason as to why it is important to be careful what you post online? 2. Which reason is most important to you? Why? 3. You can give me my reason or your reason.
