Action Plan  By:Mr.Mahmood Chishti  DA IQRA Model School  Phase-VIII  Karachi

Long Term Goal  Adopt 21 st Century teaching approaches to teach students the ‘Qaida’ properly so that they can recite the Holy Quran with ‘Tajweed’ (set of rules which govern how the Holy Quran be read) with the moderate speed.

Short-Term Goals Focus on encouraging students to identify the Quranic Alphabets properly with Arabic pronunciation. Focus on teaching the combination of Arabic Alphabets and to teach students how to distinguish between two joint Alphabets. Judge the students’ learning capability by conducting tests and listening their pronunciation with proper recognition of Alphabets. Focus on teaching Quranic words with ‘Aeraabs’(different signs) and make them learn the complex words by spelling. Focus on to teach students the way to recite Quranic words and Ayaats with fluency. Encourage collaboration among students. Help students understand that they can use each other as resources by listening each other’s ‘Sabaq’ and do revision.

Instructional strategies and tasks I will provide more ways for students to pick and learn QAIDA. I will encourage students to revise QAIDA with their fellows. I will ask questions randomly from students to know how well they are learning the given lesson. I will try to make my subject interesting for the students by using the computer technology to make them listen the Qaida words through internet. I will try to build confidence in students by providing them the chances to teach the class in front of the teacher in the same way as teacher does.

Solutions to anticipate challenges Challenges The principal may not agree with my new approach Parents may not understand my methods. I do not own a computer. There may be some students who do not take interest in learning Qaida. Solutions I will share the course manual and my pattern of related course with principal. I will use my new word processing skills to create a news letter to inform parents about my new teaching pattern. I will request principal to provide Computer in the class room. I will give individual attention to such students to encourage the learning.

Timeline April-June Teach the Quranic Alphabets properly with Arabic pronunciation & correct identification. Conduct test. July-Sept Teach the combination of Arabic Alphabets & teach students how to distinguish between two joint Alphabets. Conduct Test. Oct-March Focus on teaching Quranic words with ‘Aeraabs’ and make them learn the complex words by spelling. Teach students the way to recite Quranic words and Ayaats with fluency. Conduct Test.

Resources Other teachers who teach my same grades and subjects. Internet Course manual
