ISLAMABAD MODEL SCHOOL FOR GIRLS (I-X) BADIA QADIR BUKSH FA ISLAMABAD

UNIT: 5, WATER TOPIC: THE SOURCES OF WATER LESSON PLAN

Objectives of the Lesson The students will be able to describe the various sources of water The students relate the sources of water with the uses of water

Activities for Achieving the Objectives The students identify the various sources of water The students relate the sources of water with the uses of water

Materials/Aids Blank charts (12) Markers (6) A pictorial chart of water cycle

Previously Acquired Knowledge The students have learnt about the importance of water in the previous lesson of this unit

Key words Rain River Ocean Canals Springs Agriculture Domestic industrial

Important points for Facilitating The student will be facilitated to discuss and identify various sources of water in Activity 1. The student will be facilitated to relate the sources of water with the uses of water in activity 2.

Introduction to sources and cycle of water The teacher will explain the importance of water and different sources of water. She will explain the water cycle by telling them when the ice melts on mountains it comes down in to streams and rivers and finally enters in to seas and oceans. The water level increases in seas, from seas it turns again in to water vapours and makes clouds. The major sources of water are springs, lakes, rivers, seasons, ocean.

RECAPTULATION Q #1.What are the different sources of water ? Q#2.What are different uses of water? Q#3. Define water cycle with the help of diagram.

Home Assignment Collect some pictures of natural resources of water and sea and also paste on your notebook. Learn and write different sources and uses of water.
